I made it !!! Finished, survived, completed, DONE.
When I signed up for this adventure to be honest I really wasn't sure if I would complete the entire 83 km. I knew I would give it my best shot but would I actually arrive in Noosa on foot having walked the entire way, I had no idea 🤷♀️
The final day of our adventure was most certainly the hardest, the day was hotter, less wind, lots of stairs, a few small headlands and I had a dreaded blister 🙄. But OMG the scenery was spectacular, what an amazing country we live in. The water is sooooo clear and the shades of blue as the depth travels out to sea is just stunning.
After living on the Sunshine Coast for 10 years many many years ago and having spent holidays here a million times I didn't realise how much of the coastline and beaches I had actually never taken the time to enjoy and explore. Our destinations here on the coast had always been determined by the size of the surf so the boys could catch the best waves and I could catch 5 minutes to myself with a book sitting on the sand.
Having had the opportunity to explore the entire coastline on foot has really given me a new appreciation for the many little coastal seaside communities that are hidden amongst the hustle and bustle of the Sunshine Coast as a whole. Sunshine Beach is at the top of my list when I win the lotto, just a beautiful little place with a beautiful feel about it, I could most certainly live there.
Having never done anything like this before and deciding that my weekly walk & talk with Kim Prichard while we walked the dogs and a few years of yoga would see me through I had a few doubts that I was up to it. But this beautiful coastline and what you might see around the next headland plus the friendly banter between the group keeps you going. Pushing past the large brown snake down the path sign 😳🐍 , through Alexandria Bay 😳😳😳 and onto Hells Gate all experiences to add to the memory bank.
But to actually arrive in Noosa knowing that my little feet had carried me the entire way from Calounda and looking back along the coastline of the journey we had just traveled was pretty amazing. These little feet of mine are obviously made for walking 👣👣👣.
Thank you Sunshine Coast Adventures and Wild Spirit Adventures it has been a blast and I am sure my first walking holiday of many😀
